Uniqlo (Fast Retailing) Q1FY25 operating profit rises 7.4% impacted by forex

【Highlights】 ■FY2025 1Q consolidated results: Fast Retailing reports significant revenue and profit gains In the first quarter of FY2025, consolidated revenue rose to 895.1 billion yen (+10.4% year-on-year) and business profit, which is calculated by subtracting cost of sales and SG&A expenses from revenue and thus serves as a true reading of business profitability, increased to 156.9 billion yen (+11.0%). Operating profit increased by a lesser extent than business profit due to foreign exchange factors, rising 7.4% to 157.5 billion yen. Global apparel retailer UNIQLO announces the launch of "The Heart of LifeWear," a new initiative to donate one million new items of HEATTECH thermal clothing to people in need around the world this winter. This global initiative originated with UNIQLO considering the question 'What makes life better?' and asking how, in its 40th anniversary year, the brand could take further concrete action to contribute to society through LifeWear. Revenue tops 3 trillion yen and operating profit surpasses 500 billion yen FY2024 revenue: 3.1038 trillion yen (+12.2% year-on-year), operating profit: 500.9 billion yen (+31.4%), and profit attributable to owners of the parent: 371.9 billion yen (+25.6%).
