MUJI starts new subsidiaries in Cambodia, Indonesia and India
Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Nobuo Domae, President and Representative Director) (the "Company"), which operates MUJI, has established three new local subsidiaries, MUJI Global Sourcing (hereinafter "MGS") in Cambodia, Indonesia and India, in order to strengthen its product development and production management systems. As the Company already have three bases in two countries, Shanghai and Shenzhen in China, and Vietnam, this will bring the total to six bases in five countries.
By establishing development and production management bases close to the factories of production partners, and having highly specialized production teams respond to customer needs on-site, by examining the actual products and conditions, the Company will promote the refinement of production management and quality improvement, and build a safe and secure supply chain.
In addition, by learning from the wisdom of local life, the Company will develop material and products originating from MGS.
Going forward, the Company will aim to minimize costs by getting more deeply involved in the manufacturing process and producing products that suit the various needs of its production partners, thereby eliminating waste in the manufacturing process and maximizing production efficiency.
The Company will also contribute to the economic development of the local area by conducting ethical transactions at fair prices with production partners who share the Company's philosophy.
