Nikkei rises as Trump eases tariff war with China; yen also not targeted - Fri 25 Apr 2025

Nikkei extends its broad-based recovery led by chip equipment maker Disco and the tech sector as Trump eases his tariff war with China and starts talking with Chinese President Xi.

As an added bonus, Japan will not be strong-armed to strengthen the yen abruptly as both Japan & US finance chiefs meet in Washington and find no issues with a weak yen.

Wall Street inches up as it gathers strength to extend its recovery next week while Google reports a strong quarter beating expectations.
