Nintendo H1 FY25 net sales fall 34.3% on softer Switch hardware and software demand


 

Actual Earnings First Half FY25
• In the first half of the fiscal year, net sales of 5,232 billion yen (-34.3% yoy) and operating income of 1,215 billion yen (-56.6% yoy) decreased compared to the same period of the previous year, when "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" were major drivers of the Company's overall business.
• Nintendo Switch hardware sales were 4.72 million units (-31% yoy) and software sales were 70.28 million (-27.6% yoy), both lower than in the same period last year, but remained relatively high into its eighth year.

 



Earnings forecast FY25
• As a result of revisions to hardware and software sales forecasts based on sales results for the first half of the fiscal year, net sales projected to decreased by 5.2% to 1.28 trillion yen and operating income projected to decreased by 10.0% to 360 billion yen.
• The revision of the forecast for operating income and loss, ordinary income and net income were left unchanged from the forecasts at the beginning of the fiscal year.
• There will be no change to the annual dividend forecast at 129 yen.
