Tuesday, 17 Sep 2024 - Sharp has unveiled its EV (electric vehicle) concept model, "LDK+," at SHARP Tech-Day'24 "Innovation Showcase," its technology exhibition event, held at the Tokyo International Forum (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) from Tuesday, September 17th to Wednesday, September 18th. This concept model was planned and developed in collaboration with Hon Hai Technology Group(Foxconn)*1 based on an EV open platform*2. It was also developed with the cooperation of Folofly Corporation*3.
"LDK+" is an EV that views the interior of the vehicle as an "extended living room" and focuses on the time the vehicle is stationary. Utilizing Sharp's proprietary AI technology "CE-LLM*4," AIoT technology, sensing technology and other technologies, Sharp will propose a comfortable and sustainable lifestyle that connects EVs with "living spaces, people and energy."
In this concept model, the rear seats rotate backwards. When the door closes, the liquid crystal shutters on both side windows close, creating a private space. Based on the information that AI learns from home appliances in daily life, it automatically adjusts the air conditioning and brightness according to your preferences, creating a comfortable interior space. The rear of the car is equipped with a 65V display. It can be used not only as an immersive theater room or a children's play area, but also for remote work where you want to concentrate alone. The large screen allows seamless communication with family members at home, providing a safe and convenient space as if they were in the next room. In addition, a storage battery and solar panels are equipped to the EV, which can be connected to the home, where AI will realize optimal total energy management for the home and EV. In the unlikely event of a power outage caused by a disaster, the electricity stored in the battery can be used within the home.
Sharp will continue to propose comfortable lifestyles that are close to people, and contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality.

*3 Headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, CEO: Hiroyasu Koma. A company that develops, sells, and provides after-sales service for EVs, as well as charging infrastructure services.
*4 Abbreviation for "Communication Edge-Large Language Model." Our proprietary AI technology that utilizes large-scale language models (LLMs) as edge AI. Processing is done on the device, so real-time performance is high and more natural communication is possible. For questions that cannot be answered by edge AI, detailed information is obtained from cloud AI.
